Welcome to The Card Caravan, my little corner of the art world where tiny paintings are filled with color, character and a touch of whimsy.

From curious birds and woodland travelers to hand-painted cards and little treasures, each piece begins at my art table in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I create every one with the hope that it brings a smile, tells a tiny story and becomes something worth sharing—or keeping for yourself.

About me

Hi, I’m Kristen, the artist behind The Card Caravan.

My creative journey has taken a wonderfully winding road. I earned my BFA in Graphic Design and began my career in the creative world, but eventually my love of making things by hand led me in a deliciously different direction. For ten years, I owned and operated my own bakery, where creativity came in the form of cakes, flavors, colors, and celebrations.

Now, my journey has brought me back to where it began—art.

The Card Caravan grew from my love of watercolor, illustration, and creating small pieces of art that feel personal and full of character. Each of my original cards is painted by hand, one at a time, in my little corner of North Carolina. Many feature the birds and woodland characters that have become part of The Card Caravan world, each with a name, a personality, and often a little story of their own.

I love the idea that something I paint at my table can begin a journey—sent to a friend, tucked into a gift, displayed on a shelf, or simply kept because it makes someone smile.

After years of creating in different forms, I’ve found my way back to paint and paper. The Card Caravan is the next chapter of my creative journey, and I’m so happy you’ve stopped along the way.
